Toshiba Mini-Dome Surveillance Camera Streams High-Resolution Video over IP Networks
Posted: September 9, 2009

IRVINE, CA, August 31, 2009 -- Toshiba Surveillance & IP Network Video, a recognized leader in security monitoring systems, has expanded its line of IP network-centric solutions to include the IK-WD01A mini-dome IP camera. Housed in a compact white dome measuring only 5.5-inches in diameter, it combines state-of-the-art IP video technology with a discreet appearance that readily blends into the décor of retail stores, restaurants, educational facilities and offices.

"The IK-WD01A offers an affordable platform for integrating the benefits of IP video into an indoor surveillance program," explained Sergio Collazo, Director of Sales and Marketing for Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products. "The inconspicuous design is perfect for users who want cutting-edge IP video engineering from a camera that also preserves the esthetics of the surrounding area."

The IK-WD01A is network-ready straight out of the box. The robust feature-set starts with a built-in webserver and dual codec Motion-JPEG and MPEG4 (SP) compression, and is rounded-out with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and detailed VGA (640 x 480) resolution at 30 frames-per-second.

Key to the camera's ability to reproduce crisp video images is its 1/4-inch CMOS image sensor and wide-angle Varifocal fixed lens (F=1.4-1.8, f=2.0-4.0 mm) with 4X digital zoom. Its progressive scan system yields excellent video in lighting instances down to 0.1 lux. To allow audio two-way monitoring and warnings, the IK-WD01A is equipped with a microphone input and line-out for  speakers.

The IK-WD01A is self-realizing, meaning it automatically sets up its own unique IP address when multiple cameras are installed. The IK-WD01A is compatible with management system software packages from Milestone®, OnSSI®, Genetec®, ControlWare®, and IP Video Corp®.
